About Tim Heimdal
Tim Heimdal stands by his 72 foot mural of Kakwa Falls, in the first image of this gallery. The mural is about the same height as the waterfall itself. "Kakwa Falls" was painted on the Telus building in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada in 1986. Tim designed the sets and murals for major events such as the 1995 Canada Games and the 2010 Arctic Winter Games. Grande Prairie Art Gallery commissioned Tim Heimdal to paint the legacy mural "Spirit of the Arctic Winter Games", now featured in The Canadian Encyclopedia. Tim won the Louise McKinney Scholarship, twice, at Alberta College of Art and Design, where he studied painting. Gracious! I spotted you at the bottom of the mural by the rock. I really like waterfall paintings and this one, arguably and proportion-wise, could be the grand-daddy of them all. What a task you had on this. I really like, respect and appreciate what you've done here on this mural. If it were the only painting you ever made in your life I would say you could die a proud artist based on this achievement alone.

i think i saw this mural on a building in Grande Prairie when I first arrived here in 2008. Ive heard alot about this water fall at Kakwa Falls. My husband has flown in there a few times. How long did it take you to hike in to get this angle of a shot and how long did it take you to paint this? Awsome work!
